fancy that friday

My first obligatory Friday favorites post, woohoo! Can you tell that I've been obsessing over the 1920's?
I need this dress. The fact that it would be completely unforgiving on my curves is entirely irrelevant. Please, somebody, buy this 20's dress from Adored Vintage so I can live vicariously through you.
I can't even begin to imagine how badass the chick who owned this 1920's purse was.
Admittedly I want everything from Brooksy Hats, but I am especially partial to this silk cloche. Olivia's business is also situated in Richmond, Virginia. Nothing better than keeping it local (and fast shipping!)
*Long sigh* I am completely enthralled with this diamond and sapphire art deco engagement ring. A girl can dream, right?

Maymont Mansion // Richmond, Virginia

This Valentine's Day I had the pleasure of touring the gorgeous Maymont Mansion, which is situated in Richmond, Virginia. This 100 acre estate was built in 1893 by James and Sarah "Sallie" Dooley. After fighting in the Civil War, James made a name for himself in the railroad industry. Sallie, while never formally educated, was a writer and horticulturist. The couple arranged to donate their Victorian mansion to Richmond upon their death. In 1925, Maymont opened its doors to the public for tours.

she wears the pants

Lately I have been drooling over 1920's/30's style wide-leg pants. My love for Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries is probably to blame for this unhealthy obsession. They are really just so comfortable and perfect for the warmer spring weather that is hopefully to come.

I wear these pants from Modcloth more than I'd like to admit and they fit so well. The conference room pants (also from MC) are perfect if you are looking for a more period-appropriate look.

twilight zone - the trouble with templeton (1960)

"Pleased to present for your consideration, Mr. Booth Templeton; serious and successful star of over thirty Broadway plays, who is not quite all right today. Yesterday and it's memories are what he wants, and yesterday is what he'll get. Soon his years and his troubles will descend on him in an avalanche. In order not to be crushed Mr. Templeton will escape from his theater and his world, and make his debut on another stage, in another world, that we call the Twilight Zone."

"Mr. Booth Templeton, who shares with most human beings the hunger to recapture the past moments, the ones that soften with the years. But in his case, the characters of his past blocked him out and sent him back to his own time, which is where we find him now. Mr. Booth Templeton, who has a round-trip ticket into the Twilight Zone.
